The 2012 Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom featured a weight-relieved mahogany body with a maple top, a slim '60s taper mahogany neck, a bound baked maple fingerboard with acrylic block inlays, and classic styling with multi-ply binding and a bound headstock. It came equipped with Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers (sometimes '57 Classic Plus in the bridge) for warm PAF-style tones, Grover tuners, Tune-O-Matic bridge/Stopbar tailpiece, and standard 2-volume/2-tone controls with a 3-way switch, often with gold hardware and sometimes no pickguard, mimicking vintage customs. The biggest difference between this and a regular custom is these came with a Bound Baked maple neck and the pickups are different !
