What we have here …is a rare comodity …..Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster that was plek’d and is all original except for that !! To have a guitar Plek’d is a 250.00 to 300.00 value !! Other than that again, it is as it came from the factory …..no routs or changed solder ! Plays like butter …..very unique feeling neck profile ….This is the second one I have ever held in my hands ..and they feel really nice but its the pickups that truly sound unique …..the neck is the roundest sounding neck pickup I think I have ever heard and all the other positions …just sound perfect ..and when dial up the volume on the amp the guitar has a nice growl to it ……single coil style !!! I actually saw Rory play 4 times in my life live …he was an amazing guitarist …and had I had a second son …I was going to name him Rory ….But I named the one I have after some guy named Eric, and he also plays guitar ! Comes with the Brown tolex case …which has some slight wear ….I am not sure if that was from the factory or by the current owner. The COA and all the case candy is here !! 7lbs 13oz. I actually met another man who was responsible for the making of these guitars , who had some great Rory stories ….his first name was Patrick and was a huge Rory fan and it was his letters and persistence that led to Fender connecting with Donal to make this happen !

Fender Custom Shop designers met Donal Gallagher, brother of the late, great Rory Gallagher, in 1997 at Los Angeles International Airport and received a gig bag holding one of the most coveted guitars of all time-Rory’s worn-to-the-wood 1961 Stratocaster guitar. Fender initially built 40 “clones” for the European market, and was subsequently besieged with requests for more.

The Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster guitar is an exact replica of that revered instrument, right down to the extremely worn 3-Color Sunburst alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Fender even included five Sperzel tuners and one Gotoh tuner, and they’ve replaced the 12th-fret dot marker with white plastic instead of the original clay. It also features three custom-wound ’60s single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 jumbo frets and a bone nut. This is Fender’s homage to a true and truly missed master.
